Catalog Description
Very exciting foliage on this clump-forming perennial grass. The rich green broad blades have conspicuous milky-white stripes, quite showy! Copper-colored plumes appear above the foliage in early fall, age to a cream color on stems that turn blush pink as they mature. A bold accent or focal point for the garden. Full to partial sun. Robust grower to 6 to 7 feet tall, 3 to 4 feet wide. Herbaceous. Division.
Design Ideas

This large ornamental grass is colorful and ever changing. An exceptional variegated leaf topped by vivid flower heads that are rich with orange-pink highlights. Great big accent for beds and borders and large rock gardens. Use as a vertical among low-growing plants or have a pair flank a favorite sculpture or classical stone column. Perfect near water gardens as wildlife cover and in conjunction with tiered or wall fountains to disguise mechanical pumps, filters, pipes and wires. A real stunner singly or in pairs planted in distressed metal pots or antique urns on pedestals.
Companion Plants

In wild gardens, combine Cabaret with rangy perennials such as Russian Sage (Perovskia atriplicifolia), Winifred Gillman Sage (Salvia clevelandii `Winifred Gillman`) and Rose Glow Japanese Barberry (Berberis thunbergii `Rose Glow`).
Also blends well with upright flowering shrubs like Royal Red Butterfly Bush (Buddleia davidii `Royal Red`) and Red Heart Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus `Red Heart`).
