Attractive, many branched dome-shaped mound displays clusters of fragrant yellowish-white flowers followed by bright red fruit when pollenizer is present. Perfect low hedge for walkways. Good in containers. Evergreen. Partial sun. Slow grower to 2 to 5 feet tall, 3 to 6 feet wide. Cutting grown.
Design Ideas

This is an excellent shade-loving evergreen shrub that need consistent moisture to keep looking good. Red berries are an added plus, but be sure to plant one male plant among the females in order to set fruit.
Companion Plants

Skimmia mixes well with other shade companions such as Fragrant Sarcococca (Sarcococca ruscifolia), which also has red berries.
China Blue Fumewort (Corydalis flexuosa `China Blue`) is also a sharp-looking companion, as is Rose Queen Bishop`s Hat (Epimedium grandiflorum `Rose Queen`).
