This cultivar of dogwood has a very floriferous habit. It has greater flower and fruit production than the species. White flowers grace this small ornamental tree in late spring. It has a broad, bushy form that makes it suitable for the small landscape. As the plant grows to maturity, the branches have a horizontal spreading character.
The fruit is edible to birds. Fall color varies from dull red to maroon. Good for use as a specimen, screen or container planting. Requires supplemental moisture during droughts. Good winter interest is provided by the persistent fruit and colorful trunk on mature specimens.
