Double pink flowers in the springtime are the highlight of this tree's appearance. It has bark that exfoliates somewhat, revealing a mottled-colored trunk. It bears no fruit, so it can be used in areas where fruit drop is not desirable, such as near a sidewalk or driveway, or planted within a flower or vegetable garden.
