'Primrose Heron' is noted for its unusual golden-chartreuse foliage color that matures to silvery-green in summer. The leaves form dense woolly rosettes. Leaf shape and texture resemble a lamb's ear, hence the common name. This cultivar is grown primarily for its thick, soft, velvety, yellowish-green leaves that typically form a rapidly spreading mat approximately 4"-6" off the ground. Leaves are evergreen in warm climates. This plant has erect flower spikes of tiny, purplish-pink flowers that appear in summer and rise above the foliage.

This is an ideal groundcover for a sunny, dry garden border or rock garden. It may rot or have summer die-out in humid or moist conditions so it is wise to avoid overhead watering.
