This deciduous, multi-stemmed shrub typically grows 8'-10' tall with a similar spread. It features abundant flat clusters of creamy white flowers in spring. In midsummer, berries appear, first bright red and then change to glossy black. It has leathery, wrinkled, dark green leaves.

This shrub is an ideal selection for use in the shrub border, screen or hedge. It can also make a nice specimen in the landscape. Prune this shrub as needed immediately after flowering since flower buds form in summer for the following year.
