Tulipa tarda

This tulip features a very showy star-shaped flower that opens to reveal a bright yellow center and white tips. This is a low-growing tulip that spreads like a groundcover. This early spring blooming plant is a good choice for naturalizing under trees or in rock gardens.

There are many varieties of tulips available in mid-fall at garden centers or through mail order catalogues. You can find tulips of various heights, colors and bloom times to add the perfect accent to the spring garden. Plant in mid fall at a depth of six inches. Keep bulbs in a cool area until planting
