This herbaceous plant features fiery red flowers topping deep green leaves that appear similar to that of Gladiolus. It has wiry stems 24-36 inches tall. The flowering stems may grow up to 48 inches tall.

The flowers provide bright color to the perennial border. Mulch heavily for winter, especially in cold climates, or dig up the corms and store in winter in a cool, dry place. Plant corms in springtime.
